I've setup a RAS connection back to my corp network. They provide callback feature, and can call a mobile number. dialed in authenticated, then getting ready to wait for callback then the phone drops dialup initialises and fails to wait for the callback.

I Find this : My problem is the same

I have exactly the same problem. Cannot get Windows 2000 RAS to callback to my cell phone. I am using Windows XP Professional with a t300 via IRDA.
It would be great to be able to use the callback feature, as cell phone data calls tend to run up my account rather quickly.
Anybody who has this working please post some advice here.
Thanks

is CSD enabled for your subscription? that's a network related service that allows you to make data calls to your phones

OK I finally got it figured out.
Successfully dialled in to our Windows 2000 RAS server from my notebook using a T300 (GR8 fone btw) via IR, entered my cell phone (data line) number for callback. Call is terminated and then XP waits for the callback, it answers the call and logs me on to the network.

The problem was that Windows XP doesn't support IRComm (mapping virtual com ports to your IRDA port).
Therefore, XP isn't able to recognize the incomming call on your cell phones modem.
At this site you will find a 3rd party version of IRComm. Download Ver Alpha 7. It works on XP.

Read the readme file and with a bit of luck you should be able to connect and establish a RAS callback connection.
