I have had great problems with home.se email, and i really want it to work, with mms charge up to 5,50 SEK... *shrug*
It just dont work, and i have triplechecked the IP's two times (at least!). The phone dont find the server (195.66.35.197).
So I tried ping 195.66.35.197. It cant find the adress. Same with smtp.
Have anyone got this to work properly?
Best regards

No, I have had the same problem. Maybe the server IP address has changed?

taken from Home.se website...
POP3 server: 195.66.35.197
SMTP server: 195.66.35.201
you can also try with 195.66.35.198 (pop.home.se) as POP3 server

Could it be caused by your data account setting? You might need to select right APN for your application GPRS WAP/GPRS DATA.

Just guessing, as not knowing your network operation.

Hm, thanx, but what is really APN and what whould you suggest it migh say?
In any way the IP 195.66.35.198 does not respond to ping. Doesnt that mean that it isnt available?
Ill just mail the home.se support..
Thanks anyway!

Yes,
I also went into the home.se homepage and it tried all the server names:
ping mail1.mail.home.se
ping mail2.mail.home.se
ping mail3.mail.home.se
ping pop.home.se
Not a single server responds to ping! If you find out anything from the support, please post a message here!
Is there _anyone_ who has a home.se account that has it working _right_now_ on his/her phone?

just because they don't response to ping doesn't mean they are down. Many firewalls/servers block ping requests...

I just got a call from home.se who told me that their servers do not respond to ping (just as you said Cytech), and that they are up and running. Installed home.se on my computer (in Microsoft Outlook) and that works fine, so there must be something in my settings in the phone.
Does anyone know if it is possible to use the SMTP server for outgoing mail, or if you would have to use a SMTP server from your operator (e.g. Telia)?

Ok, so I finally got it working...
The thing that made it not work for me was that under mailbox, you should write:
yourname@home.se
not just
yourname
Now it works beautifully! Thanks god for IMAP, so the emails stay on the server until you delete them!
