Hi all,

New here and done a quick search of the forums but can't find an answer to this issue, so wondered if anyone could help!
I've got an app i'm trying to install after seeing it listed in the essential apps for satio thread, and whenever i try and install i get this error:

Contact Application Supplier. Certificate error

The installation then fails.
Any ideas?

Ta in advance!

I dont have satio but i am following this phone. You need to hack it first with the programme called halox. Sorry if i have spelt it wrong.
Satio user will help you better.

The most probable cause is that the app you have found either is not designed for the Satio or that it does not come from the producer's official channels (pirated perhaps). The Symbian OS has a signing system to make sure that anything installed on the phone does not harm it and comres from a trusted source, and thus, only signed and certified apps can be installed. It is a similar system as with an Iphone which can only install programs from Apples's appstore.

That is the politically correct explanation at least.

There are hacking tools, like helloox2, that can be installed on the phone and that will circumvent the above described blockings. It is also possible to hack applications with the right tools so that they are possible to install on the Satio, but in either case, you cannot be 100% certain that the apps will function properly on the Satio or that they will not harm it in any way.

The sad side of the story is, that many apps designed for Nokia 5800, that is very similar to the Satio and also runs Symbian 60 v5, behaves exactly as you describe if you try to install them on the Satio, due to some stupid proprietary reasons. Tecnically, they should work.
