I had read somewhere that a person is making a program to take video clips using the P800. Though SE hasn't released any information about the camera to the developers, this person plans to make a screen capturing program that keeps captures the video been shown on the screen making it a video capturing program.

Like Avinash and laveenl said, it's possible through 3rd party appz and when that's available, P800 will be a killer all-in-one gadget!

Just saving some € for it

rox!

Now here's a nice thought...

P800 as a broadcast GPRS based webcam

I have an unlimited GPRS account so the idea of loading some Symbian webcam software and just putting down the P800 somewhere for people on the web to view, quite frankly kicks ass!

Just imagine being in a club or a concert and having a couple of your mates viewing what you're up to (allbeit in fairly crap quality)...

If the software was around I could soon supply the webservers to host the stream....

Even worse would be having mates see me having a crap quality night on a crap quality screen, they could keep tapping the p8 thinking it`s vid app had broke, but really..nothing much was happening for real.

yes, someone in the my-symbian forums is working on a vid-cap program for the p800. even though APIs are not released for the camera, he's found a pretty novel way around it - he uses full screen capture. the drawback of that is u end up capturing the whole UIQ interface and need to do cropping.

the other problem he's facing is lack of sound. according to him, it shouldn't be too difficult to do sound capture together.
