I'm about to start converting some media for my X10 (which I should have very soon) and I was wondering what the best video format for the X10 is?

Any advice most welcome thanks.

I managed a good conversion with tmpegenc with the following settings:

Video:
container: iPod video
Profile: Baseline
Level: Automatic (Level 4.1 and less)
Size: 854 x 480
Firmrate: 30fps
Rate control mode: 1 pass Constant bitrate
Average bitrate: 1500

Audio:
Encoder type: AAC encoder
Sampling rate: 48000
Channel mode: Stereo
Bitrate: 128
MPEG version: MPEG-4 (ISO/IEC 14496-3)
Object type: Low Complexity
Output format: Raw

I was actually hoping to play DIVX/XVID movies on the X10..
Have you already searched for apps to do so?
I read somewhere that YXplayer(?) should work fine.

I haven't bought a X10 yet, I'm sure it wouldn't be dealbreaker, but it wouldn't make me happy either!

@goldenface

You could try out DoubleTwist for conversion and syncing media files with X10 (it looks similar to SE's MediaGo). I believe once it detects your device it will find the best video format automatically (no fiddeling required).

I installed Double twist and its very easy to use. I recognises the phone and its just a matter of dragging and dropping. You can sync all video or just selected ones (the same for music etc).

I'd like to be able to choose video conversion settings, DoubleTwist doesn't seem to offer any options and when I transferred a video it was far too small for the screen

By the way, this site
is quite simply lying! The software has nothing related to the X10 and installs as Videora Android Converter with profiles for the G1 and Magic. All the subsequent conversion settings are low resolution...rubbish

I installed an app called tube grabber that grabs youtube vids and stores them in mediascape. I grabbed a couple of my own HD ones, saved me reconverting for the phone. They are pretty good full screen.
