ok ive tried setting up facebook chat on im+ for jabber but i just cant seem to get it right ive also look up a few guides on other sites but it all seems abit different....here are some facebook chat setting for other clients..
Desktop Clients
How can I use Facebook Chat through my desktop chat client (eg., iChat, Adium, Pigdin)?
Connect to Facebook Chat in your desktop client through Jabber. Jabber is an open messaging protocol that most IM software supports. Follow the steps below to begin.
(also make sure you use your fb username - not login name, but some guides say different)
iChat
Go to the iChat menu and select "Preferences."
From the "Accounts" tab, click the "+" and select the following settings:
• Account Type: Jabber
• Account Name: your Facebook
username@chat.facebook.com
• Password: your Facebook password
Click down to server options and select the following settings:
• Server: chat.facebook.com
• Port: 5222
• Uncheck "Use SSL"
Adium
Go to the Adium menu and select "Preferences."
From the "Accounts" tab, click the "+" and select "Jabber" from the drop-down menu. Fill in the following information:
• Jabber ID: your Facebook
username@chat.facebook.com
• Password: your Facebook password
Pigdin
Go to "Accounts" and select "Manage Account."
Create a new account with the following settings:
Under Basic:
Protocol: XMPP
Username: your Facebook username
Domain: "chat.facebook.com"
Resource: "pidgin"
Password: your facebook password
Local alias: "Facebook Chat"
Under Advanced:
Uncheck Require SSL/TLS
Connect port: 5222
Connect server: chat.facebook.com
-------
Enter the following info:
Protocol: XMPP
Username: [your Facebook username, check your account setting]
Domain: chat.facebook.com
Resource: Pidgin
Password: [your Facebook password]
Local alias: [your name]
3. Click the Advanced tab
Enter the following info:
Connect port: 5222
Connect server: chat.facebook.com
(Uncheck the box labeled "Require SSL / TLS")
Ok, that's it. You can chat with your friends with an IM client
