I just bought a brand new C905 off Ebay for £160 which i thought was a reasonable price.

I asked the seller what the manufacture date was and he said 09WK48 so November 2009.

As this is a much later model i presume that i shouldn't have the speaker problem or problems with the build quality or slider or keyboard?

Thanks.

The problems are there in all models of C905. It just depends if they decide to break down or not. My older December 08 model just had the keypad fault within 3 weeks of buying it but nothing since wheras my August 09 and my October 09 C905's have had problems but none the same on each model. Have been different issues each time.

AFAIK no date can salvage the wreck that it is. Sorry for the bad news but you can always use it as a dedicated cam when it acts up and get yourself a cheap phone for calling

I guess it really depends on the user.

C905 is in no way a wreck. I've used SE phones since 2004 and the pink C905 I recently bought for my GF is absolutely outstanding, by far the best I've used and has no issues at all. Date is 09W25.

@carkitter
Of course C905 is very stable and it captures excellent images that I can only dream of with my phone. But surely you can't possibly deny that it has real hardware issues collectively. All of my friends and family members (yes, ALL) are eventually switching to another phone because of those issues, not because they're bored with it which is such a shame. It could've really been a legend IMHO

This has been our experience. In fact the pictures are so good I've started making wallpapers and themes again. This phone makes everyone who sees it instantly jealous and my GF discovers new ways to use its features every day.
This is the sort of enjoyable user experience that intended and for us anyway, they succeeded. I'm sorry that your experience has been less satisfactory.

I've heard of this kind of stuff before: earlier model was bad, newer OK. Based on that, I bought a K850 a few months ago, aware that there had been problems (no idea HOW many), read many people on here say that they updated their phone on SEUS and flashed it etc. and NOW works great. Well mine didn't...and each week it presented a new kind of hell.

I'm now trying to jump to C902 via phone seller since it seems to have a little less problems than K850. The manufacture date may prove useful...surely their's a wealth of people on here who can clear this up? And overall...it can just be confusing sometimes. People can buy the phone at the same time and some have trouble and some don't...I think that's percentage failure per 100 devices etc. maybe 20per cent bad etc. or something. Fingers crossed for you though!!
