Mine has dramatically improved since updating from R1FA014 to R1FA016 without changing any usage habits.
Previously the phone would struggle to make it past 9PM but now it's still on about 40% at midnight!

very informative, good tips but despite the actions taken to reduce battery consumption, i am sill having to put my new x10 on charge every evening.

where can i find the R1FA016 update? my phone is saying it is already upto date but it is running R1FA014

I have no idea why this is the case and can't really give a logical explanation, but as others have said, after several charges the phone's battery does in indeed last longer. I now get around 24hours moderate usage
