Hi all,
I want to get a new smartphone, but can't really decide. I'm mostly into SE for a while now, since my P910 to my current K810i. I'm thinking of buying a Vivaz, but i've seen some posts that say Satio is better. I've put together a short list of what i see one is better than the other, at least from what it says on paper:
Vivaz:
- cheaper
- lighter, smaller
- bigger battery, more efficient processor - hopefully longer time between charges ( i want a phone that last 2+ days between charges with moderate use)
- faster processor
- USB and 3.5" jack
- 720p vide with autofocus in video
Satio:
- slightly bigger screen ( by 0.3 inches)
- better photo camera
- flash (not that important for me, i have a K810i atm, and for anything past 1 meter, the flash results in a very underexposed picture, or is it just my phone)
I've noticed there are next to no negative posts of the Vivaz, when there are a ton of the Satio. Is that because it is much better, or just few ppl have it?
Please let me know your comment, mostly people that tried both would be helpful.
Thanks

You're better off not buying a smartphone then. All smartphones tend to be battery hungry as opposed to none-smartphones.
I have a Satio. Ive used my girlfriends Vivaz alot. Personally i would go for the Satio every time. I just prefer its form, square as opposed to rounded, its camera, its screen, and the general feel of the phone. I think the Vivaz feels very cheap in the hand.
However, im not completely happy with either phone. The lack of decent free apps or quality premium apps is frustrating me more with SE than anything has before. Im considering going back to a Nokia phone such as a N97. Im totally annoyed at the lack of something that competes with Nokia maps moreso now that its freeware. I could easily get my Satio hacked, but id rather not.

I've got both or actually i should say HAD both. I returned the Vivaz as it wasn't anything different from my Satio except that the Vivaz has constant focus during video recording.

Yeah, i'm also thinking of maybe a C905 or even leaning for a W995.
I've initially saw the Vivaz advertized with a 1500mAh battery, but now all i see is 1200 or 1000.

I've heard the screen of the Satio is much better in sunlight.

I may have to agree that this is the make or brake point for a smartphone, and unfortunately i have noticed that good apps are hard to find. Not a lot of sense wasting the battery on a powerful cpu when the apps are just gimmicks. The iPhone would be better in this respect, and i've had some time trying one out, but didn't really got to like it.
Thanks, I might rather get a W995 now...

the touch screen of vivaz is more responsive, it has standard headphonne jack and a faster processor. So i would personally choose vivaz over satio, if i had to choose b/w them. Well you can always google the apps, instead of searching thru play now.

personally i'll go for satio as you can hack it(works on new firmware downgrade/debrand) and get as many apps as you want also the vivaz has quicker processor but it only uses it whilst recording in HD (heard it somewhere else). Also when you hack the satio you can installs mods etc whereas the vivaz is not hackable. The sound the satio produces via headphone is good. Touch is resistive but very good for a resistive. The battery should last you one day with medium/heavy use you just have to charge it every night

I would personally stay away from Symbian right now. All bugs that are present in the Satio are also present in the Vivaz. The Vivaz may be a great device but the OS is terrible and Sony Ericsson's Symbian support is poor. I.E you can only really enjoy a Symbian device if it's a Nokia. I would wait a bit till Symbian^4 comes out or get an Android or an iPhone!

It's a great phone don't get me wrong but there are annoyances in some of the basic phone functions that should not be present in a high end phone.
