> Vivaz - Few user queries
Bookmark topic
Hi
had my SE Vivaz for 3 weeks now and I was wondering whether someone can help with a few niggly issues:
1 - Is there any way to have the default internet connection set to wi-fi instead of my 3G network? When I'm in range of my home network it is a little frustrating having to go through the internet settings, searching for wi-fi and selecting Start Browsing via the options menu
2 - Is there any way of scrolling up and down internet pages without using the screen (sometimes end up clicking on links when scrolling)?
3 - I pick up my email (Yahoo) within the Messages section but it is listed by Folders so I have to scroll through to my Inbox folder to find new mail. Is it possible to have this default to my Inbox view?
4 - Is it possible to have 2 email accounts active at the same time?
5 - Is it possible to stream music from my computer to my phone i.e. just access songs on my computer from my phone?
6 - I'm on O2 and when I try to access a video via the BBC iPlayer app a message states only Vodafone and Three networks can access over a network otherwise you need to use wi-fi. Why should this be and is there any indication when this will be available on O2?
Sorry for the many questions, just trying to get the most out of my phone.
Many thanks

only know the solution to your first question -
go into 'connectivity' in 'settings'.
open 'destinations' . one of the items listed should have a 'tick' against it to indicate default access point (AP). Open this. Inside there should be listed at least 2 APs. One of these should be your wi-fi and you need to set this to 'priority 1'
to do this select it and then tap 'options', then 'organise', then 'change priority'. The display will switch back to the list of APs. Drag your wifi to the top of the list, wait 'till the list reorganises, then tap 'ok'.
exit
now when you are in range of your wifi and open a 'net app the phone should? use the wifi.
However some apps may have specific APs set and will continue to use them regardless - you'll have to edit the individual apps settings.
Hope this helps

Many thanks again for the response.
One final point. Oddly enough today my phone have stopped notifying me of any received texts. No sound signal, no icon on screen or other notification on screen. The only way I know I have a text is by going into the inbox and I notice an unopened item in there.
This has only happened today (not sure how) and I'm not sure how to rectify it. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Regards

Couple more queries which hopefully someone can assist with:
How can you manually open multiple internet windows? - Clicking on some links on the internet opens a new window on the Vivaz (and you can switch between windows) but I was just wondering how I can open a new window myself
Is it possible to change the buffer amount for streaming video? - My You Tube application launches fine, I can carry out searches and start playing clips. However, for a relatively long clip e.g. 5 mins, the video plays fine for approximately 2 minutes and then freezes. On occasion I haven't even been able to exit the aplication to go anywhere else on the phone and end up having to take out and re-insert the battery. I'm on O2 if that makes a difference.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
