Decided to write this post as its been a long time since anyone has said anything about the release of the p800 in the UK, so does anyone know? I think its almost out everywhere in europe except here, whats going on? Why aint it out sim free at least (does it come out first on contract or sim free?), if someone does know something, a shop name/website where they are selling the p800 (UK spec, or very cheap import) then please share with everyone.
Also what is the price going to be like? the 7650, Gd87 (i think its the 87, not sure) are all very cheap now, between 49.99-149.99 on contracts plus they are both free with them "dialaphone" deals, so whats the price going to be like? I have asked around in shops (in London) and they all say less than 250, is this true?
Thanks for any replies in advance and hope we recieve the UK spec p800 soon...

Hi,

Sony Estore said it will be the end of February for delivery the first week of March but they didnt have a specific date, I'm hoping they were just playing it safe and the P800 will actually be out earlier.

They did confirm the sim free price to be £499 inc vat.

The "spec" is unlikely to be any different to whats available now in europe.

If theres no difference in specs, then why is it taking so long (netwrok crap i keep hearing) when its out almost everywhere? Anyone got a idea on the real prices in other EU countries or the cheapest they have seen it for? Really would rather get it on a upgrade rather than sim free, as it has been almost 2 years (i could have upgraded in May of 2002) but decided to wait and got my T68i on a new contract. So now i could have had another upgrade instead of wasting a free year.
Also anyone know the cheapest price for a HBH-30, shop or websites only please (dont trust people on Ebay). I have seen it for 80 pounds cheapest, brand new and delivered in under 1hr to London, or 60 2nd hand, anyone seen it for a cheaper price?

Hi,

Apparently it has been delayed because they are putting T9 in the UK Version.

(The 4 main networks demanded this.)

This has moved the release back by a few weeks.

Worth the wait IMHO.

Orange have also needed to implement ALS as this is not available in the vanilla version.

you can but the P800 SIM free from http://www.expansys.com/

however it is £890.15 and it is imported.

They advertise the UK price as being £528.75 SIM free or £293.75 with contract for 2yrs.

24th Feb, thats still far away, who said they will be selling on this date? Any idea of official price because if the date is confirmed why not the price as well?
