Have the choice of upgrade in the next few weeks with O2.

Not sure whether to get the Vivaz or X10.

What would you guys recomend?

Whats great about the X10 and what isn't?

from my experience ..... nothing bad at all for the X10, but then I'm biased
as all my previous SE's have been "less than good" !!!! (w910i, k850i, Satio ....)

Whats great:
4,0" screen
design
Android
1Ghz processor

What isn't:
short battery life
laggy Timescape and Mediascape
Android because it's only 1.6 Donut. Support up to 65k colours
Quiet earpiece
No multitouch
No trackball etc
No AMOLED screen

I suppose the negatives could improve in future updates?

I've had a nokia (16m) and my x10 side by side and it may be my
tired old eyes but I couldn't see a whole lot of difference .... timescape
lagging , well yes but given whta it's doing I'll put up with a second or so.
I don't use mediascape so no problem there and donut ... yep waiting for
the update later in the year. I really couldn't care less (or miss) multi-touch.
I don't have issues with call volume - hate track balls - and having used
an AMOLED for a while am glad the X10 doesn't have one - but that's all
personal preferences so.

The only real pain is the battery - yes it's got 36-48 hours, but again given whats
going on I put up with it so my timescape is up to date

I've heard X10 will have Android v2.1 in the future, so it's upgradeable.

Will it have multi-touch in future updates?
Xperia X10 has a capacitive screen. It does not support multi-touch functionality at launch, but is considered for the future.
