> Your experience with Java / Jbed?
Bookmark topic
I recently learned that it's now possible to run J2ME stuff on Android, using
Jbed. Apparently this is included in the Hero ROM, and can be installed on others.
So I've been trying hard to install it on my G1 without success. No matter what ROM I throw on my G1 I don't have enough space on my /system folder for the 3mb libjbedvm.so file, so I guess G1 is too old.
But as I'm quite interested in being able to run J2ME Midlets on my (future) Android device, I'm wondering if others have had any luck with this?
I've tried the J2ME Runner app from Netmite available on the Market, but that solution is not impressive at all. But Jbed seems to have a real JVM coded in C/C++, which theoretically should make J2ME stuff run a lot better than with J2ME Runner.
Can anyone share some experience here?

I also have some good J2ME and MIDP apps that I can't find in the Android Market (or equivalents thereof).
I tried the Runner from netmite and was disappointed: it comes with a bunch of bundled J2ME apps - I tried to load Skype and Opera Mini. On each occasion it came up with errors and nothing could be opened. I uninstalled the Runner and all associated stuff until I hear evidence of a better version.
I will give JBed a try and will keep an eye for alternative solution. There are a few for developers (allowing them to port their apps for Android without re-writing), but I'm not that class. I need a 'dumb' user solution - and hope to find one.

Did you try out Jbed? What did you find out?
Anyone else tried Jbed?
Meanwhile I've learned that Samsung Android devices apparently comes with Applix Jblend, which also lets you run J2ME stuff. That all sounds great. Anyone has any experience with Applix Jblend?

@mr_lou
hello there. Actually sir before you install jbed or jblend or any java emulator you must root your phone first. Try to google AndRoot or root explorer. Its like fexplore for symbian. After rooting your phone try to install jbed. Please take note of your android o.s version because of compatability issues of rootexplorer and jbed. Try xda forums or xda developers for more tutorials.
