Hello ,
I got the phone about a week ago , GPS didn't work since i got it .
I installed the newest software R1FA035 ,
and the result was .
When i enter the current status :
after around 3 or 5 m. it finds around 3 or 4 satellites and they are located on the top of the screen 2 right and 2 left , they are outside the circle .
""" before updating it could find 1 or 2 max. at same locations , but the new soft finds 4 and faster ""
"" the old soft was R1FA035 too "" !!!!
so it is always searching and never connected .
When i use A-GPS " Internet " it locates my town on google maps and then wait for GPS signal , which doesn't connect like i said !!!
is it a software problem ? or hardware ? or regional " i'm from Egypt " ?
hope you can help me , cause i can ask to change the phone this week " 14 days from buying "
thnxxxxxx ..

Hi George.
My C905 was updated with the most recent fw and was able to connect after a while. Worked quite well with google maps etc. It does take a while to connect.
I remember just after I updated to the latest fw that there was a noticeable decrease in the time it took to connect - on a bright sunny day it was about 10 seconds so you should see an improvement with the latest fw.

I use GPS on my C905 all the time, but you should know that the C905 GPS signal is not as strong as a real GPS unit.
It will frequently lose satellite reception, but usually regains it quickly.
I have had a time when i could not get reception as you described, but that was only temporary, and later that day it worked fine.
Maybe you should take it back and get another one?

First of all thanks for replaying
Well , my question is that , what does it mean that the satellites are out of the circle ? i saw a video when it was connected and there were like 4 in the circle in current status , mine got 4 too , but outside the circle !! so does that mean it is a regional problem , as it already got 4 satellites so the hardware is fine ?
another thing , GPS and Camera , the absorb the battery charge , is that normal , i mean the whole day with 3 or 4 calls the battery only drops by 15% or something , GPS or Camera could consume the same in like half an hour !! ..

GPS will use more data because it is constant assessing where the satellites are in order to give you an accurate position. I remember on my Satio it would exchange position data constantly so GPS will make you battery run down quicker.
Having the camera running also uses a lot of power.
4 satellites outside of the circle does not indicate a problem, it is just indicating that they are further away from you.

that means it is a regional problem , and the GPS works very well ,
it is just hard to get and i should move alittle pit , Right ??

I bought a few weeks ago the c905 with the latest f/w of course, and it had problem with the gps. It used to take ages (more than half an hour) to connect to just 2-3 sats. I took it to the service center demanding to fix it, since the manufacturer says it may take up to only 10 mins to lock the sats.
They reinstalled the f/w with a clean install through EMMA, and now it locks at least 5-6 sats in 5 mins the most! Working just fine. It's probably a software problem. Take it to a service center since it's still in the warranty.
When the sats are out of the circle it means that the receiver has located them but it hasn't locked them yet. It takes a few mins to do so. Then they appear in the circle.
