> USB connection Satio moving applications

When I connect my Satio to my PC using the USB Mass Storage option and then disconnect from the PC.
Applications that were in certain folders in the Phone i.e My Apps have been moved to i.e.Entertainment.
Has anyone noticed something like that? its annoying having to move applications around

I get something similar occasionally but only with the one app - DeviceInfo. Sometimes it moves location and sometimes I get a duplicate icon but restarting the phone seems to cure it.

I get this too. It seems to be only apps which are stored on memory card. doesnt happen if apps are moved to phone memory but obviously this is limited.

yeah its only applications that are stored on the memory card, its a pain in the ass, I have to move about 15 applications each time I plug phone into a PC

My Satio seems to loose contact with the memory card after I have connected to USB Mass storage, and hence, the storage location for incoming messages has been silently changed to C: (internal phone mmemory) and caller id ringtones have been replaced by the default ringtone, since my custom ringtones are stored on the memory card (maybe I should move them btw). Itäs annoying and I do not get a warning about it until a new SMS arrives and I get a warning message about that the storge location cannot be found, or someone that I have a custom ring tone for calls me, but the correct ringtone is not playing.

I also have this issue; my phone tells me it cannot locate my card. I find going into the message settings and changing the default location back to the memory card seems to fix this problem.

Mass storage mode effectively turns your memory card into a USB flash drive and functions in the same way as manually ejecting your card and putting it into a card reader.
I'm no expert but I believe that this method for accessing stored data only allows one system to address it. If the phone and your PC tried to address at the same time it could corrupt the memory. If you want your phone to be able to address memory as well as the PC you have to connect in PC Suite mode which has safeguards in place to ensure corruption doesn't happen but because of this data transfer rates are much slower than in mass storage mode.
As I said, not an expert but I believe this is generally correct (if anyone knows better please feel free to correct me).

I think you are right. But on previous
phones I have used, connecting the phone to the PC in mass storage mode usually makes the phone unavailable for any other kind of usage, while the Staio still can be used and is able to receive both phone calls and messages. This is what's makes it confusing.
