> w580 screen dead, flexcable?
Bookmark topic
While trying to repair my W580 i discovered the screen doesn't work. The screen itself is fine (tested in S500) so that can't be a problem. I discovered the spring in the sliding mechanism made a little hole in the flexcable (pic), so maybe that is the issue. Anybody knows?

Ok, so I came back from holiday and wanted to order a new flexcable, but since there are two types I decided to get out the old one first. Before (with the broken flexcable) the phone did react (lights, vibration) when I pushed the on-button, now it doesn't anymore. Does anyone know if that has something to do with the flexcable, or that I screwed some other part while taking it apart (and so it is no use to order a new flexcable...)

If you ever figure this one out, let me know.
I have the same phone with this problem. Keypad is perfect, but screen is dead. The screen does light up, but displays a black screen only, so a bad signal cable would explain it.
