Hi all, Two days ago after charging my X10 I decided to reboot to improve battery performance and when phone turned on it says \"No SIM card in phone\". I removed and reinsurted the SIM card, but still same problem. I've done this for 2 days to no avail. Actually when I rebooted the first couple of times it said to insert SD card also which was already in. I tried another SIM but same problem. Both SIMS worked fine the last 2 weeks in the X10 and now the X10 can't see them. I put both SIMS in my P990 and they both work fine, so I know there's nothing wrong with them. I Googled but no other X10 has been reported with same problem that a single reboot didn't fix the problem. Tomorrow morning before I take it to SE service, I'll do a factory reset (I hate doing resets and handing my X10 to some technician who might not handle it with care), unless someone can help me with some advice on fixing this issue. Thanks in advance! ---Peter. This message was posted from a WAP device

Try an update through Sony Ericsson Update Service.

@ Lollylost100 - Thanks for the suggestion. This morning before you posted, I did a few factory resets but it didn't help so I went to the store I had bought it at and was hoping that they would replace it. They refused stating that the 15 day replacement policy had lapsed and that they would send it to SE service for me. I wasn't informed when I bought it that I had only 15 days and apparently I had missed it by a few days since the problem happened on the weekend and Monday was also a holiday here. I told them that I'll call their head office tomorrow, because such an expensive phone shouldn't be breaking down like this and even if it's repaired it will probably have more problems in the future since it seems it turned out to be a lemon. If they don't replace it, then I'll do a software update at the local SE service. If that doesn't fix it then it'll be sent to SE head office service centre in Athens. I hope they replace it! Fingers crossed. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again!

Well guys, after having a horrible experience with both the store and head office of "GERMANOS" in Greece (I'm boycotting them for life and I'm URGING anyone that's planning on buying from them to be very cautious and / or avoid them) since they refused to exchange my X10 stating that they believed me but they also believed the sales rep. I took it to my local SE service in Kalamata on June 1st and a SW update didn't fix it. He sends it to a higher service in Patra. It took them 13 days to send it to the head service point in Athens. After calling them 3 times during the last 2 weeks, last week they said that both SIM and SD Card readers were faulty and they're waiting for parts and they'll call me by June 21st to tell me when it will be fixed. 2 days ago I called them since they didn't and they said they're still waiting for the parts. I said I don't have another month to wait and SE should simply replace the phone. *.continued on next page due to lack of space posting with my phone-

..continued from previous page - After telling him I'm very disappointed with SE's policy and that this will be the last time I buy a SE product if I'm not taken care of, all he could say is "we'll call you"! Well about 5 hours later I got a call from SE and they said that they'll be sending me a new X10 instead of waiting for parts to fix the phone. Hopefully I'll have it by mid next week and I can enjoy my X10 especially with the new FW coming soon.

Thanks to GOD and everyone for your help!
--- Peter.

Hi guys! I got my new X10i replacement last Friday with the battery and back cover from my old X10i and the bonus is that having kept my SIM and SD cards before sending the phone to SE service, the new X10i was sent with another 8Gb SD card so I now have 2 8Gb SD cards.

The only thing that scared me was after charging the phone overnight is that the next morning the time showing was wrong. I put it in flight mode and then on phone mode and the auto network time update fixed the problem. It happened the 2nd day after I downloaded Net Counter and Astro and switching flight mode ON/OFF, the time was once more correct. It hasn't happened again in the last 4 days but it had me going there for a while, thinking I had more issues to deal with.

This new X10i seems better built than my first one. When I put the battery in and push down to secure it, the phone doesn't squeak anymore, also the side buttons have more resistance so now I can't press them accidentally. The other thing I noticed is when I went into the Service Test menu and tested the earpiece mic and loudspeaker, there wasn't any crackling sound when the test recording was played back in max volume, unlike my first X10i which crackled at max volume. After reading posts from moogoo and others on the X10 thread experiencing crackling in the earpiece, you guys might want to get SE service to check if there's something wrong with the speaker's hardware and have them replaced. Also the screen is more responsive and fluid and no 'force closes' so far!

All in all, everything worked out great for me, thanks God! Now after one and a half month without my X10i, I'm falling in love with it all over again.

Sorry for the long post. I'll see you guys in the X10 thread.

Take care!
Peter.
