Hello!
I have a t68i which I unlocked. When I insert SIM cards belonging to other operator the mobile works... but it does it differently. It seems that the operator that sold me the phone made some personalization on it.
Is there anything I could do?
Thank you very much in advance

What does it do "differently"? Also, what are you trying to do that doesn't work now? Is it possible to just change the seetings to work with the new provider?

Some functions depend on the sim being activated for such a service- eg text message delivery reports, gprs, mms

Hello Again and thanks for your support...
I have been investigating, as if I was a detective to find out exactly what were the differences and why where those differences happening.
I can resume the difference in:
"When I use the t68i with a SIM of the original operator the phone as default works on its internal Contacts list (which I think is the proper fucntioning) and when I use it with a SIM from another operator by default works on the SIM"
I guess that if someone did had this problem before what I have just said is enough to know hi suffered the same, but just in case I am not clear enogh I will explain a little further.
SITUATION 1: WITH A SIM OF THE ORIGINAL OPERATOR
If I move the joystick upwards/downwards I get to the contact list of the mobile. If I had that list empty the mobile would ask me if I want to fill it with the contents of the SIM. If I insert an item I do it to the mobile. If I delete it I do it to the mobile.
SITUATION 2: WITH A SIM FROM ANOTHER OPERATOR
If I move the joystick upwards/downwards I get to the contact list of the SIM. If I had that list empty I would say "Empty List" (or something equivalent... I am translating from spanish... sorry). And the Phone book menu changes. I loose option Add contact and I get a Manage SIM one.
Does anyone have any idea why this happens?
Thanks a lot!
(and please Heeeeelp)

"ANOTHER OPERATOR" is TIM, right?

I believe it is not relevant but just in case it is
ORIGINAL OPERATOR = AMENA
ANOTHER OPERATOR = TELEFÓNICA MOVISTAR
both from spain

I think it has to do with the network specified in the phone settings as the home/original sim if when you change sims you change the network number and tower priorty lists it would treat the new sim as its native sim. I think it is so he you loan your phone to a mate he has easy access to his contacts. Or that is my theory...Bhang

Hello!
Bhang... I didn't understand exactly what you meant... if your hypothesis was right... what would you do to fix it.
I have news... not good not bad. I have tryed the phone with a third's operator SIM (VODAFONE) and it works ok

Why is it that the only operator with wich it doesn't work ok is the operator I wanna stay with?
Pleeeeeaaaaase help me!
Thanks

This functionality (SIM management) is intentionally added by Ericsson on a demand of TIM. You cannot change such a "personalisation" unless you are able to patch the firmware

Hi!
Thank vve for your reply. Could you please tell me what does TIM mean... and... do you know why it does get activated with one operator and not with others.
I have also tried the sim of the operator which makes my mobile work with SIM Management in another T68i new from a shop and another of a friend and in both it works without SIM Management... Is this normal?
Thanks again... and please... answer me...
