Hi...I`m using my r520m phone to connect my pc to the internet...I`m using GPRS of course....There are advance settings in the phones menu(settings+data accounts+your account+advance..)...These are settings for its internal modem....I didnt able to activate data compression with my gprs connection whatever I try...If somebody knows how, please explain to me....I`m tryin to activate this because in genear, file download is okay with gprs connection but if I try web surfing, it is really slow...I think this is happening because of data/software compression is not present.....Also I`m curious about one thing.....Is phones advance settings(precedence, mean rate, peak rate......) effects gprs dial-up connection with pc? I mean, with creating a dial-up connection and calling *99***1#, do I pass phones settings and connect to the gprs network directly? or is there any effect of phones settings to the pc connection? my operator do not charge any fee for a usage of GPRS connection....It`s completely free....Thats why these settings are important to me...Because I use gprs connection 3-4 hours a day....
P.S : If you have any settings combination or recommendations for gprs connection over pc, please reply to my message...I`m waiting your comments....Thanks in advance....

Do not know the advanced data setting exactly. You are a lucky one having free GPRS, but may not to expect a data rate of wireline connection currently. The network could be still under construction. You have to inquire the supplier whether they provide compression. Our supplier here introduced PC software for the GPRS users saying faster web surfing. Have no experience on it.
Suggest write to R520 thread in esato forum. Hopefully some people there can give help.
