When selecting a ring tone option, under "Sounds & alerts, what is, "Increasing ring"?

Thanks,

That's an option that makes the ring tone increase gradually as it plays. It's starts very quiet but if you let it go it will reach the maximum volume!

Thank you zide.

I may have to return the little beauty (SE c902) because I can not hear it ring. I read the manual and followed the instructions set forth there on how to increase the volume. The phone is now set to '8' which is as high as it will go. I still can't hear it. This is not acceptable.

Thanks again for your prompt reply.

Use the default Classic phone.mp3 - sound is very strong.
Increasing ring - Turn off

Yes, that is exactly what I did. i.e, I used 'classic phone' ringtone and turned the 'increasing ring' off.
I still can not hear it. Maybe my hearing is not very good, but at this point I am not about to spend $2000 to $3000 on hearing aids just so that I can use a Sony Ericsson product. btw, The SE c902 replaced a cheap, prepaid card phone, (Kyocera), which I can plainly hear with no problem whatsoever.

I also used the Vibrate first, then ring option.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha, if I did, he'd recommend that I trash the c902 and go back to the cheap, prepaid card phone, (Kyocera), which I can plainly hear with no problem whatsoever. lol

Well if you do not hear one of the most powerful ringing in your phone - maybe your speaker is damaged or you are not hearing.
