Yeah, it was being discussed in the rumours thread. I don't think they received a good press when they declined the first time around but we don't exactly know why they did so.

This is an old fake news, Google is indeed preparing a Nexus Two and hopefully not by samsung or HTC,though we will not have cooked Sense Roms like the Desire ones on N1
