I have to carry an N95 & a cheap normal phone with me all the time. The N95 I only switch on when I need TomTom or internet.
I had a look today but there's still no phone that does both. Let me explain.
* Smartphones, the battery life is rubbish.
* Semi-smartphones (like the SE elm), there's no locally stored maps feature when you need them aboard.
Can't get Google Maps to cache them either.
...Just checked out the Xperia; looks amazing. I got excited. Then I realise it's made useless by battery life - AND you can't change the battery yourself! What am I going to do about that when the battery runs out on the underground?
The Elm? No satnav that works aboard.
I carry on carrying these 2 damn phones!
What about Symbian with Ovimaps pre-downloaded over Wifi? Are all those Nokia symbian phones crap battery life too?
Update:
E52 has 480hr talk time but unfixed bug in Ovimaps still downloads when in offline mode, leaving TomTom s60v3.

Off to carphone warehouse to try out the e52

Thanks! I got excited! WindowsMobile though... can be hacked to Android I wonder... and does the camera start much quicker than my N95?
...a black and white screen would do me fine...

Buy an E72. It will satisfy all you needs. The battery life is incredible.

Why not just buy another battery for the n95 and carry around a extra battery instead of 2 phones.

I'm trying out the E55.
Yeah, I do have a spare battery for the n95.. something about swapping... not so sure.
My N95 I can't stand to use much. Anything that takes a second to load the menu to select an application to me... makes the whole thing worthless. Can't stand waiting more than 200ms for a UI to load a few kb of icons.
May find the e55 is just as slow. Will see.
