After i purchased a class 6 memory card i can tell you there is no noticeable difference in phone behavior (speed increase, etc.)
Transferring music (alot ~ 6GB) is writing with 2.5MB-2.8MB/sec When the card is in the reader it can copy with 6MB+
Seems like the satio has limited speed over the standard SE connector :/ so i bought a class 6 card for nothing. Well it wasnt much more expensive than a class 2 card. What can you guys share with me? Try transferring alot of MP3s to your phone and post your best score. I want to know if there is something wrong with the card or simply satio wasnt designed to go faster. i tried copying a movie at the same time, speed was 1.5-2MB/sec but mp3 transfer speed didnt drop :/

You have to use Mass Storage for best speed... I have a regular Class 2 and it is faster than your speed...

also take a look at the fast port connection on your Satio... after a while the contacts get's dirty and grimy which can affect speed.. try cleaning them with a contact cleaner.

For me, old class 6 which later was became faulty unit, it significantly slow transfer-rate when got class 2 back.

My suggestion maybe it about your USB connector, Once Class 6 impressed me cuz 1Gb was transferred less than 3 mins

@Norbi_nw, I never expect a lot of cable connections - card readers are the way to go for fast transfers.

I just did a transfer via cable of 700MB, from the Memory card to computer, in about a minute (14MB/s). However copying to the memory card from the computer was slower, about 4-5MB/s. That's 20 minutes for 5GB, not too bad, but well worth taking the time to use a card reader. tbh it's easier to carry around and use a card reader than the cable.

Just out of interest, I also use wifi to transfer files (I mount the satio as a NAS drive using SymNC and access it via unc path) - Transfer rate is about 1MB/s up and about 1.25MB/s down.

hi.

there is a little note about transferring files into a memory module...

let's put it simple....
copying 1000000 files ( each about 1KB ) will take much much much much longer time than copying a single 1GB file...

transfer rate in the first case will not go over 1MB/s in best conditions... but transfer rate will reach 12-13MB/s in the second case....

it should be noted that this kind of data writing is related to the format of the memory ( FAT - FAT32 - NTFS all have this problem - and as you can see these are all used by windows and of course.... your phone!!!!!)
but other file systems such as HFX used by linux and mac os have different data writing algorithms that makes the copying process faster.

Yes that's true. One large file will copy much faster than a lot of little files.
