Hi new to forum. I live in Australia and have a HTC Magic. Its a brilliant smartphone using the android platform. Just wondering why noboby else here seems to have one? Are they labeled or branded different in other countries?
PS. I collect phones and have more than 100, Somebody has to save them from the crusher!

Enjoy your HTC Magic.I dont much like the design of the Magic
but its running Android which I am loving at the moment.
What version of Android is your Magic running?
You said you had more than a 100 phones.Thats bordering
on Loopy.I suppose some people collect stamps. You just
collect phones.Nothing wrong with that I suppose.

I just got my first Android based phone - HTC Magic (brand new at a clearance sale for 200$) ....updated the plain jane android v1.5 to htc sense with 1.5 through HTC official ROM update...seems a very nice phone and easy to operate the capacitive touch screen and lots of free apps from android market

if it gets a official froyo update ...i will be more happier

I have a Dream(G1) here. They're almost the same though. Running a modified ROM thanks to Cyanomodgen and this ROM is the 2.1. They have a version for yours.

Not a fan of the Magic's design either but its quite a capable device, not that different from the Hero in terms of ROM, RAM and CPU. Enjoy it
Ps. Absolutely loving Android here to, excellent OS.

Been collecting phones for about ten years. Got a few old analogue units. Would love to get my hands on a brief case phone for my collection.
The majority of my collection came from Japan on one of my many trips over the years. They have some wacky and strange looking handsets. Just this year I took note that most Japanese consumers use flip style units. Its rare to hear a ring tone in public as most people have them on vibrate or silent. Love my HTC magic, its been the best phone I ever had. It is fully up to date and running a 8gig micro sd card that has been tweaked.

I am slightly skeptical about a custom ROM update..would prefer a official ROM update (if there is going to be one ) ...

heard there is a froyo based rom update from cyanomodgen ..but i dont know how to root a android phone first and then flash it to a custom ROM

@c_vignesh: I did root my phone with help of a friend. I'm too scary when it comes to android.

@HTC-Magic: I read somewhere days ago that there's maybe a hope of getting Froyo to the Dream and Magic.
