Anywhere I should go/anything I should do? (apart from the obvious of course)
I'm there for 4 days, mainly want to be getting some nice photos for my photography A-level I'm starting in September and to shop!

Whilst there for a 4 day stag do we mostly got pissed, but still managed to fit quite a bit in!
Travelling around either by taxi or subway is cheap as chips and very efficient!
We opted to go up the Rockefella Centre, rather than the Empire states building so that we could see the Empire.... doing this just before dusk gives you the opportunity to see New York both in the day time and also of the night!
A walk around Central Park is a must....
And for shopping you can't beat Macy's but don't leave it until the last few hours when totally hungover like I did or else you'll spend half your time in the toilet getting shouted at by annoying yanks and then get frustrated as you cannot find your way around the maze of departments....
Breakfasts..... be careful what you order, I eat lots of food, but nowhere near the amount those guys do for breakfast, it truly is amazing and no wonder a lot of them are obese.
Battery park and ultimately the ferry to Staten Island and Statue of Liberty is worth doing, lots of bums hang around Battery park though so don't go on your own, if you are going on the ferry don't load your pockets up with too much gear as the security is tighter than a ducks arse and you have to empty your pockets remove shoes and belts etc
I had a large steak on Restaurant row, 28oz if I remember correctly, not cheap but worth doing at least once!

If you like hamburgers give the corner bistro a visit.
West village and Greenwich village are also nice for food and shopping.

If you have a sweet tooth, remember to visit Hersheys chocolate shop and the famous M&M shop just opposite it
The most annoying thing about NY is the taxis, they're cheap but they never stop honking their horns, walking the streets you'll know what I mean, constant beeping, screeching tyres and speeding taxis.

Yep, 2 years ago with whole family. Another thing to do is to watch the baseball, the arenas are bloody massive.

I found the food fantastic too, cheap and plentiful. Central Park is definitely a must, it's huge so try and spend an afternoon there.
The Empire State was great. If you go early in the morning, say around 10am you will avoid all of the queues and the lift is very fast so you're at the top in no time at all.
For photography there is no end of subject matter. There is always something which catches your eye and it s a great place for point and shoot.
When I went I took my W900i which had a 2.0MP AF cam and got some nice shots.
If you've never been before you'll absolutely love it. I thought it was amazing.
