I have been using built-in Email service on my K850i for my Gmail account. It is working well. But lately it is giving me false email notifications although there is no new email.

I have set only 10 messages in inbox, download limit set to 500 kb and checking interval of 60 mins.

What i have observed is i get notifications for emails having larger size then 500 kb. I have already mark them as read but every hour i get notification.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks centure for reply. I am already using the one you have posted in screen shot but i am using pop3 type. Can you tell me whats the difference between imap and pop3? Both are free to use, right?

Hej Ceaser

With imap4 is eMail deleted from the server if you delete it on your phone.
Pop3 is read only. Something like that.

I dont know how but from yesterday night, it has stop giving me false notifications.

I have set IMAP4 account. I must say it is way better than the pop3. In pop3 account, it tends to download whole email including attachments. Whereas in IMAP account, it tends to show the message and attachments are shown as attachments like mail on pc.

And can be downloaded on our wish.

That saves lot of space on card.

and as hihi said, we can delete the email directly from server.

I would recommand everybody to go for IMAP.

It works great for me. You can choose to load or to wait till you have pc. I set mine to check every 2 hours.
