I am looking for something more powerfull and able to cope with CAD packages such as Solidworks, Inventor and Pro Engineer but on a budget. I have around £600 to spend and i am looking to get the best possible performance from a base unit as possible. My computer component knowlage is very limited. I have looked on ebay at ones with 8gb ram but would like your opinions are you are very knowlageable folk on here

I was recomended this by a friend but the spec looks low....? :S

That would cope fine if you added some more ram, you should have at least 3gig ram with the 64bit os, as the os itself uses 1gig.

The spec on the Lenovo you did is OK. Dont forget the OS (the one you showed has no OS included). Dont forget that the price you have there is without VAT so there is another £100 to be added to the price.

If your current set-up just has problems with rendering, just invest in a new graphics card, have you considered a laptop???.

I currently have a laptop, thats why i am looking to invest in a desktop. I'm using a sony vaio and it is terrible. General moddeling is slugish when i get into multiple component parts.

Any other systems? Would you favor the levanon over the cheaper ebay ones with more ram and seperate graphics card?

Take a look at www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk, they've always had some deals going, and have brilliant staff that are almost constantly active on the sites forums if you have any questions
