What are the advantages/disadvantages of buying a Sony Ericsson phone in a Sony Ericsson shop? Lately my friends always get the same answer from a certain Sony Ericsson technician here in Davao, Philippines: "The phone has software problems, we'll try to change it" or "The phone's motherboard is the problem, we are still waiting for parts to come". That answer always come's out of their mouth. Over and over again, it's boring/tiring to hear. What if you buy from a different shop, say elktroworld/wiltelcom? How does the repairs fair in these stores? any difference?

I'd rather purchase a phone from any cellphone tiangge around as long as it has that 1-year SE warranty. Much much cheaper, plus you can still haggle. But I don't get it, are you talking about purchasing a phone from the SE shop or having it repaired by the SE shop?

Both actually. But I'm worried about the repairs though incase of breakdowns. Sony Ericsson shops are sooooooo slow. Some phones wind up in the hands of the technician longer than it has been in the hands of the owner..
Or is it like this everywhere?

in my opinion, I'd rather buy elsewhere than straight from SE shop if that's the case. When I bought my SE phone from timtechs it came with the standard warranty with them plus it is entitled to the manufacturers warranty with SE but you have to send it to the region of origin. I actually also purchased a 1 year international warranty with timtechs for the phone and it's so much easier and worry free, all in all great support compared to when I purchased my phone from a Nokia store before that I have been directed to several different departments just to get support and have my phone fixed
