> Hazel vs other slider phones

Has anyone noticed this? Lately I heard that Hazel has a magnetic slider, as compared to other slider phones which have "belt" sliders(Yari and etc.). Is this true? If so, how durable/dependable is it? I'm really happy to be hearing this information since I'm close to buying a new phone and I was just choosing between Elm and Hazel, the twins.

When I bought my Hazel I didn't know about it having a magnetic slider, and it's also my first slider phone, but anyway I've been using it for 3 months now and it has a slider open count of 1287
, so far so good, have not experienced any problems and it still slides as good as when I bought it. I always slide it very gently. I'm not sure if having a magnetic slider is more durable than belt sliders, I think it depends mainly on the way the phone is handled

Well I have the new Zylo slider and its the most solid slider phone I ever used. Its totally flush with the main body of the phone the slide part and there is no wobble at all. I also can see from the side it sits on a block type thing that moves with the slider so I think its a better more reliable design than spring types.

are any of you guys texters? does being a frequent texter bring in the "wear and tear" effect on hazel? or is it really just on how you handle it(gently) just like what reeflotz said?

And yes it is how you treat them too cos I see some people treat their sliders as if they are made of solid rock or something thinking they won't break. Up & down all the time when not needed & snapping them shut hard

you can access the slider open count by accessing the service menu, press* > * . I'm not a heavy texter though. Most sliders depend on the durability of the flex cable which is why I slide mine gently in hopes of preventing the usual wear and tear of slider phones. Hopefully the one on Hazel is durable enough to last me till I think of getting a new phone.

I don't know if it feels any different when compared to other sliders since my Hazel is my first slider and I lived with candybar phones for the past 5 years.
