I went into Apple store last week to buy the new iPod touch and got told they had sold out 30+
iPods within half a day then was told they would get some more in this week but her look on the face said it all really,

I already own a 2G iPod but after experiencing the 4G version I want it but I cannot seem to get it anywhere,
everywhere says it's forthcoming with no actual date some say 3-4 weeks Pre-Order it

does anyone know when this official date is gunnabe the date to get one?

My Workplace seem to think they will have some this week im so un-sure of this though
any advice peeps?

Oh this is a big gaping hole for me! Its my birthday on Friday and I'm getting £190 so I was going to buy the new iTouch 4G Did you go to the Apple Retail Store, Argos, PC World/Currys Digital? I want one badly! I checked online and Argos are completely out of stock!

theres about 3-4 weeks wait to on lots of sites GRRRR!!!!


lol HMV states Usually shipped within 5-8 days lol and how many orders
have they got before we get ours

I just wanna walk into a shop and get one nuff said

Not bothered about the lack of stock personally, still deciding if I want an iPhone or an iPod Touch, and by the time they come back into stock in a couple of weeks, I'll most likely have enough for a 32GB iPhone 4 and will go for that.
Why the hell didn't I get a job earlier?

Another point is that they cannot be jailbroken yet, which maybe you aren't interested in doing anyway though.

I doubt anyone want's to jailbreak there ipod touch(s) anymore, the only reason anyone would wan't to jailbreak an ipod touch is to get paid apps for free and thats it because apple have made everything else added to iOS (i.e. Home screen wallpapers) and according to apple.com/uk/retail they have new stock of the ipod touch 4g everyday and have plenty at the regent street and the new covent garden london stores.

I have looked at that iPhone 4 but the attenna issues bother me,
why should I have something like that, thats not exactley upto scratch (Moneywise)

I have my HTC anyway prob alot better lol

I considered jailbreaking my iPod touch 2G a few weeks ago,
but under the circumstances thought neh in the end,
IO have version 4 Software on that atm just got 4.02 lastnight and it's added the shadow
on the menu on the bottom but still no option to use wallpaper on the menu area,

unsure if apple will do this on the 2G version but i think the 4G iPod is smaller
and has alot on it so it's why I want it to replace my 2G,

just wish they would hurry up into stock tbh dunno whats the delay on them either

I've had a play with one, and while the thinness doesn't seem drastically different, the silver boarder around the edges of the previous Touches has been shrunk and is now pretty much non-existent. This really makes it seem TINY!
About the antenna issues, they were completely blown out of proportion and only a selected few devices were prone to dramatic loss of signal, and the Touch seems to have more problems, like slight clicking sound while recording video with WiFi turned on, and slight light leaks around the boarder of the device
