> Cannot Connect To Server sending mail via PacBell
Bookmark topic
I have pacbell for ISP, and I got the above error while attempting to send an email. It used to work before. Is anyone having the same problem? I am in San Francisco, CA
Here are my settings...
Data comm...data accounts
MyMail
phone number: 1458961200
user id: myaccount
password: mypassword
data rate: 9.6
dial type: ISDN
DSN : 206.13.28.12
Email...option...email account
joeMail
connect using: MyMail (see above)
protocol: POP3
Inc. server: postoffice.pacbell.net
incoming port: 110
mailbox: myaccount
password: mypassword
outgoing server: mail.pacbell.net
outgoing port: 25
I believe these settings are correct as it worked before. Would you guys verify this and let me know if this works for those of you with PacBell in the Bay Area.
Thanks,

If you trust the setting worked before, then it must be some changes on the server side. Try these separatly, 1. Change the DNS assignment from the static IP to Server in your data account. 2. Assign IP address instead of the outgoing server name in your mail account. Maybe you can also verify the live of PacificBell server via cable or fixed line.

I spoke with someone today and he suggested changing the Dial Type to analog and it works.
Just in case someone here has the same issue.
