Is it just my perception or are newer sony ericsson devices, especially the Xperia lineup, more durable?
For eg..earlier there used to be scores of threads complaining about faulty touchscreens on phones like the W960, G900 etc. Compared to that, I am yet to find a thread complaining about the screens on the x10 or the minis malfunctioning.
I know that capacitive screens are more durable but is that the only reason? Surely some credit must go to SE?

I hope so...
Compared to Ericsson
devices... which had magnesium frames and Bang & Olufsen speakers...
phones had worse build quality for the first few years...but has gotten better with each generation.
The Elm and Hazel are built quite well.
The C702, although water/dust proof paled in comparison to the
R310s
I think the P800 and P910 were built ok...nothing GREAT but they lasted me over a year each.
I was impressed with the P1i construction as well and felt it got closer to the build quality of
So far, I'm liking the X10 Mini Pro... and AFAIK, the X10 Mini is even sturdier.

Yeah that's true. Am looking at it mainly from the touchscreens point of view. No complaints about touchscreens breaking down in the new series as compared to the older generation.

My first X10's menu button sunk in on the first day. Still functioned but it was a little annoying to press.
Replacement has held well for 3 months. The USB port is a pretty weak spot on the X10 apparently.
I think the worst phone SE ever released was C905 - at least build wise. Two brand new units broke within a month of usage, I gave up and got a Samsuck.
K800 is legendary.
On the touch screen. I haven't had a single freeze, my Aino's touch sreen froze at least once a week, and the latest firmware was the worst.

There are few complaints in general, I think.
In Android section people want an update but not because 1.6 is crap.
I've heard about some freezing Hazel's but that seamed to be fixed.
is doing well.

has definately improved apart from still the odd creak here & there on some models. But overall reliability has improved big time. I rarely get big problems like I used to just minor ones

what on earth is going on? Just yesterday your sig said iPhone4, now its X8 and Aino, lol
Anyway, yep, SE have improved, although i think the K850 was well built, it felt more solid than my X10, but ive never realy had build issues with my SEs anyway.

Every sony ericsson ive owned has had the squeeky back cover syndrome. Although its nice to have a proper metal housing on the elm with no cheap plastics used

X10 is nearly seven months old and the only gripe is there is slight wearing on the home button. Other than that it's still perfect looking.
Screen, camera lens are perfect.
No creaking whatsoever from the battery cover.
No paint peeling, and the usb cover is still in tact.
9.5/10.
