There is a possibility that I may get a new X10 from my employer, but I have some concerns about the syncronization and connection to the PC. As I understand it, SonyEricsson's PC suite is currently not compatible with any Android phone, which is a pity, since the PC Suite is capable of syncing address book and calendar data from Lotus Notes. Also, the PC suite works fine to send and read SMS. Is there any other software available that can be used with X10 or X10 mini for this purpose?

Hi altemyr, Android in general is a cloud OS... and something I discovered that will make your life a whole lot easier is to let go of the old school way of syncing (direct sync between mobile device and desktop/laptop)

How cloud devices work is that the connection between the 2 is done via the web. For Android specifically, you must get used to syncing your Lotus Notes w/ Google services. Gmail and Google Calendar.

Forget about syncing with your phone... the new orientation is "Sync with Google"

Create a free Gmail account if you don't already have one. Sync all your Lotus contacts, email, and calendar with your new Gmail account. Just Google "Sync Lotus Notes Gmail" or "Sync Lotus Notes Google Calendar" to find the most appropriate method for your version of Lotus Notes.

Once your Lotus Notes is synced w/ Google Services or Google Apps... your Android device will sync with everything automatically.

It's actually a much more convenient system than the older way. There is no more need to connect everything. And you can edit your phonebook from Gmail itself, once saved, your phone will automatically update itself whenever it's online.

Regarding SMS from your computer... afaik, there is no app that directly controls the phone this way, since there is no direct link from your computer to the phone.

For file transfers and sharing, download Dropbox. Install on both your computer and any mobile device (Android, iOS, BB) you want to share files with. What it is, is a common virtual drive on your device. Any files in the Dropbox folder can be shared and viewed by all your devices. No need to transfer. Beauty of this system is, you can do this from anywhere. For example, you forgot a file from home... you can ask someone at home to just drag the file into your Dropbox folder, and you will see it already on your mobile device (assuming both devices are online and the file is done uploading)

My employer provided me with an X10. We are using Always-On Mail from Seven Networks to sync over the air with Lotus Notes (Mail, calender, contacts). In January we are moving to iAnywhere.
