Although I have never had a problem with the market before - last week, I found that updates and downloads weren't downloading. Usually the progress bar goes blue and then you see the xkb/xMB download and the bar starts filling. I have no problems accesing the browser internet either through 3G or my wireless router.

Now Ive googled the problerm and last week, I deleted the cache of Google Talk, Market, Checking Service etc and although this seemed to be a temporary fix - it had the entirely horrific side effect of killing my contacts. When I did the migration from my old phone and all the contacts came accross - I ended up with most and a biy of a scramble. Anyway, this cached clearance seemed to kill my contacts (and calendar!). I did see the synch arrows by the battery metre and wondered if it had (for some reason) decided to synch with Sony Service and picked up the raw old data I had on there.

Anyway, got everything back to normal and today the market place wasnt working again. Followed same steps, same result - success with a minor contact scramble (not so bad this time since I made sure to first synch my phone with the sony service just in case. Still buggered up the contact pictures though.

Now the market downloads are working again! Sigh - anyone else had this problem? Any fixes?

My Market stopped working last week too. Uninstalled data for Download manager, uninstalled Market app updates and cache as per advice in forums. Got it to start downloading apps but they would not finish. Spontaneously started working some day later. Today it seems to be down again. At first apps downloaded, but slow. Now it won't initiate at all.

There sure seems to be a relation, yes. The system log from Android System Info always refers to GTalk in entries relating to market download failure.

Same issue here. Worked a while after I removed the Market update, but then stopped working again. Then I noted that Market update had been installed again (not sure when), so I removed it again without any luck this time (even tried to clear the cache).

Not sure what is going on here, but if it is Google that has some kind of maintenance work in progress it would have been nice if they announced it somehow. Otherwise I don't know what to make out of this (market seem generally a bit flaky and not very reliable).

Try opening the app thats meant to be downloading, then cancel the download, go back to the downloads page and open and start the app downloading again. That works for me.

Jag avinstallerade market updaten, lyckdes uppdatera mina program, men verkar inte som det fungerar så länge. latitude funkar knappt heller (om det nu är något du använder)
