I'm interested in applying some patches to a W760. But I can't find any patches for W760 at 4shared.com
So maybe I need to flash it with another firmware first? (Like I recently flashed a K610 to W660 in order to do the same).
If yes, which firmware should I flash my W760 with then?

You'll need to change the certificate to brown with Omnius (not free) in order to permanently patch it.

Will wait to see if I can find a "Remove Java Security Popups" patch before updating though. There doesn't seem to be one among the patches I've found so far, neither at the links Boysie posted.
I checked with DaVinci Client, which will make it brown for 5 euro. That's ok. But will wait till I find that java patch first.

Having done some research of my own, I can agree that this patch doesn't exist. My suggestion would be to ask some1 to port it...
And another thing: If you are going to change your f/w, don't use SEUS! Your phone will get updated to CID 53, believe me, you don't want that to happen...
