Is there any way to back up all my text messages on my x10 mini as i may need to do a factory update or send it off under warrenty and have a new phone sent too me.

Download MyPhoneExplorer (preferred) or SE own backup app. Both do the job.

Stinger, the Backup and Restore function built into the X10 Mini backs up all SMS and MMS onto the SD card.

how do i use this feature? so if i use my memory card in the replacement phoneall messages should still be there?

Just click backup and restore and it takes care of everything.
Yes you can restore in a replacement x10 mini
