A few members asking me on how to
JAILBREAK,
MODIFY,
PIMP, etc. their iPod Touch devices,
so maybe its time to share what i know about it. Since theirs a lot of good stuff on the latest firmware (4.1) and its already supported by the "greenpoins0n" application because 4.2 is not supported yet, its the firmware i used on my iPod Touch 3G. So lets Begin....

A.) Identifying your current version and model
Basically go to
Settings > General > About
If you can see mine is already version 4.1 and an MC model. If yours is not yet the latest firmware, update it using iTunes 10..
B.) iOS 4.1 information

C.) Updating Firmware to 4.1
Upon updating, all iPod touch content will be deleted since it will install new firmware on your iDevice.
Automatically
This is good for at home computers that has an stable internet connection much better if you use DSL.
1. Download iTunes 10 from
here.
2. Plug in or connect your iPod Touch 3G/4G to your computer, after connecting iTunes will automatically open if not open the application manually.
4. Wait for the update message to pop up and choose "Download and Install", if not just press the
Check for Update and it will automatically update your iOS to 4.1. It takes a long time to download the firmware its about 379MB so be patient specially if your internet connection speed sucks

Manually
This is good for those people who doesn't have good connection at home like broadband kits or unstable connection because you will download the firmware not from iTunes.
TIP: Download them on computer shop that has high speed internet connection and save it to your flash disk or memory stick.
1. Download iTunes from the given link (above).
2. Download the iOS 4.1 firmware for your iPod Touch 3G/4G from
here.
3. Plug in or connect your iPod Touch 3G/4G to your computer, after connecting iTunes will automatically open if not open the application manually.
4. Choose your iPod Touch 3G/4G from the list on the left.
5. By pressing the Shift key(in Windows) or the option key(in Mac OS X), click on the Restore button.
6. Now browse and choose the iOS 4.1 firmware .ipsw file.
Thats it now itunes will update your iPod Touch to 4.1 iOS.. The First part is done good job..
D.) Jailbreaking
Here comes the
do it at your own risk part I am not liable to what ever happens to your device since I'm just sharing what i have done on my device too. But don't worry I bring
solutions not
problems just follow the steps correctly and all will gonna be just
FINE.
NOTE: Before proceeding make sure that your iPod Touch is running stock 4.1 firmware . (what we have done above)
1. Download Greenpois0n
here. (mac/linux/windows)
2. Open Greenpois0n application and turn off your device.
3. Click on “Prepare for Jailbreak (DFU)”, this application will help you how.
4. Press and Hold Sleep Button for two seconds
5. While holding sleep; press and hold home for ten seconds.
6. Release sleep button; continue holding home for fifteen seconds.
7.Your device is now ready to be jailbroken. click "
Jailbreak".
8. Wait till it flash saying "
Jailbreak Complete".
9. Finally "
Loader App" will appear on your home screen, use it to install "
cydia" (must have wifi connection) after installing you can delete ot remove the installer.
CONGRATULATIONS YOU HAVE NOW SUCCESSFULLY JAILBROKEN YOUR iPod Touch
now you are ready to PIMP things up on your iDevice.
E.) Must have on your iDevice

Cydia™
You'll find Cydia™ right there on your iPhone after you jailbreak your iDevice.
WinterBoard
Give your iDevice a graphical overhaul! WinterBoard provides hooks the let graphic artists safely and simply theme almost anything in your iOS including third party software downloaded from App Store.
SBSettings
Move common toggles directly into springboard where they're always there!
AppSync for OS 4.1
AppSync 4.1 let you install cracked apps on iOS 4.1 firmware by patching MobileInstallation file on iOS 4.1.
Installous
It's an app that lets you illegally download cracked apps right on the iDevice.

@bro exca yung classmate ko din guz2 niya pamodify saken yung iPhone niya.. medyo natatakot ako kasi hindi aken..
@rexi isa lang iTouch ko plano ko na nga ibenta kasi gusto ko mag upgrade to iTouch 4G..
mukhang mahal pag 13k ang benta ko kasi 18k ang iTouch 4G sa Rob ermita. 2months old palang to..
