Hello,

I've been asked to sort this out and tbh I haven't a scooby... not done algebra since I was a school...

Create an expression when expanded the coefficient is equal to constant terms...

(x+a) (x+b)

any ideas?

Cheers

(x+a) (x+b)
It would be like this: x^2+ax+bx+ab

Think of it like that, with the thicker lines noting the things you have to multiply

Both are the same, just in different order.

Sorry that's my bad, should have arranged them in the same order as Tranced to avoid confusion, both are 100% correct though

I had a teacher which used to say that that method was the happy face method.

I just put all the variable first and then the constant.
