Hi everyone!

that's it in a nutshell!

Friends Iomega usb drive was working perfectly and now she gets the emssage t format it,

Any ideas on what to do, besides pressing yes to format

You can try scandisk to fix it.

and Scandisk will not run,

How come it won't run? Is yours broken?

Try to restart the computer with the usb plugged in. It might prompt to run the scandisk when starting up windows.

If it is asking you to format, it is a corrupt file system, very unlikely there's anything I can do.

ALWAYS KEEP A BACKUP. I can't stress that enough

Hi lukechris, not my drive!! My friends, but fortunately, I told her to make back ups and to store data elsewhere, so she has only lost a few files,

If I format it, what's to say the problem will not return? We both bought one of these a few months back,

Oh! I do have a MacBook Pro to try it on..

thanks, but don't have access to that...

Might ask my friend to find the receipt, and then see if the PC-World can run any data restoring software..
