The hopes and dreams of Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 owners that they some day might experience the thrill of watching Adobe Flash videos and animation has been permanently quashed by the joint venture. While Android 2.2 will be a no go for the Xperia X10, X10 mini and X10 mini pro, Sony Ericsson plans on offering a multitouch update in Q1 of this year which would allow users to pinch-to-zoom in the browser.
Considering that the device launched with Android 1.6 and early reports disputed whether or not the line would support multitouch capabilities, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is ending up quite capable of being an extremely useful handset. And if you feel adventureous, you can always root your handset and flash it a custom Froyo ROM from Xda-developers.

It is what pisses me about this company the most.
They ALWAYS stop support of their devices in the middle of the road.
Never giving latest FW.
And releasing the next device instead which has what other customers are waiting for.
Now X10 is not getting the latest Android however it could!
They want you to pay..
This happened to every of their smartphones.
I like the devices but we should not be cheated anymore.

this is such a heart breaker, all 1st gen Xperia are capable of 2.2 update
atleast they should give us that, i understand that they could not give us 2.3 and above for it is already reserved for their 2nd gen Xperia.

Well now i'm pissed off -.- Just because X10 can get scores very similiar to Arc, doesn't mean it shouldn't get 2.3, and it's not that much of a work too, since thoose two phones are practicly the same, so it's like few days of work for SE, but noooooo.

I learn't my lesson well after spending over £2000 in
junk. Every company provides a similar phone at half the price or spend the same amount on a dual core. Dual core will open many avenues and they will have all the updates. The Moto Atrix and LG 2x are the future, Arc is already limited. Just go down to the shops when available and ask for a demo, you won't be disappointed. Updating software isn't difficult, its all part of their tactics to get you to buy the successor as its always been.
