In my case it was the back cover not closing tight. It makes you feel the keyboard isn't good. Using some double sided tape on the back cover solved my problem. Maybe this information is useful. If not, just skip it

Battery covers are indeed a problem. They get loose over time and do not lock down properly. This results in the typical
squeaky battery cover syndrome that has plagued
phones for some years now.
SBE Ltd are the official
repairer in the UK and they will also sell you the Xperia X10 Mini Pro battery covers for £7.50 delivered. They take orders over the phone and payment is via credit or debit card.
Phone number is 01233 619320 and just follow the prompts to get through to customer services. Delivery time is about 3-7 days.

The keypad of my mini pro is loose, I have two bubbles from the middle to itch side! And have a big scratch in the center, that is the result of open and close the keypad.

Been using my X10mp for almost a year now, no hardware issues with my keypad. I tightened my battery cover with some electrical tape on the inside to close off any gaps.
Can't wait for the new Xperia Active and Mini Pro to upgrade

When I had mine it did not take long for the slider to become loose. Also I found the keys a little sticky in use.
