Hi together,

i have the P800. And I have problems with the Email Client.
When i wanna klick "get/send" for connecting to the pop3 server, you see the message "connecting pop3.web.de" (i have my email adr. at web.de).
After some Minutes i get the Message "Could not find DNS Server".
So i tried the Email Client Function with my second Email Adress....same Problem.

I looked the DNS Server Option. The option "Get DNS Adress automatically" is set.

So whats wrong? I dont understand that. I have no Problem surfing in web with this Handy, only canīt use the email client function.

I also tried the auto Setup from Sony Ericsson.....same Problem.

Anyone knows how to solve that Problem?

Thx a lot......

Greetings,

Nick

Hello!

My brother had the same problem. He figured out that his network provider didn't support the future of recieving mail by pop3.
This port was closed.

So check with your provider, and I think you will solve the problem!

Best regards, Patrik

I too am having the same problem but I know that my ISP allows POP3 as I use it this way through Outlook and Outlook Express!

Please help - this is driving me up the wall trying to download my e-mail to my P800!

replace pop3.web.de with 217.72.192.134 and see if that works as its the ip address for pop3.web.de

The problem is that you can access you email providers POP host, but not the SMTP server - you need to use an SMTP server provided by your mobile network provider.

For example, my POP host is NTL - pop.ntlworld.com
My provider is Vodafone, my SMTP address is smtp.vizzavi.net (smtp.ntlworld.com won't work).

Also, for wap browsing, the APN for your GPRS data account will be 'wap'. For email, you need the APN to be set to 'internet', and activated by your service provider too.

Cheers,

Steven.
