Hi

I have my J20i Hazel as back-up phone and as 3G-modem to a Eee PC 701 Netbook running Ubuntu 10.10
Connects them by bluetooth. works great I just need to click connect and the Hazel/701 will automagic connect to the internet.

Sadly I also got a 3G-USB modem with my Laptop(win7) and that Opticon O505 modem is overheating and I think having a damaged USB plug. Also the my Plan with my provider that the Hazel use is expiring in a few days but the Plan the Opticon use is for another 18 months

Wanna simple things down. As well as having the possibility to have both comps online at the same time.
Using the 10MB/sec Mobile broadband plan SIM in the Hazel and connect both the Nettop and the Laptop by WLAN/WIFI

Both comps and the Hazel have WLAN/WIFI (having also an X10 Mini but cant get it rooted)

Is it at least in theory possibly to use the Hazel to share Internet connection with two comps at the same time and would these comps and Hazel be able to send files between shared folders.

I'm a complete lamer when it comes to network and wireless networking.

If I get what you want to do is to tether using your Hazel. This phone doesn't have this feature.

If i'm correct you can set Mini up as wifi hotspot. That should make both pc's talk. I think.

Unfortunately a phone can not do router. And if you could, the DIY router would be far way too slow.

Thanks guys
I suspected that the router-thingy was beyond the Hazel.
Well it works, as a 3G-modem perfectly with one comp at time. Can get me a second USB BT-dongle for the Laptop
So i only need to disconnect one comp and connect the other and do some file transfer by BT.

I am aware that the X10 Mini would be a better choice for internet sharing but sadly I need it as phone.

Again thanks for your answers.

Just get a pocket 3G mifi. Search for a huawei 3G pocket router. They're not that expensive and work as a mobile hotspot.

Well I am retiring my Hazel for (almost)everything Internet. Using the Hazel as a telephone(talk, found out that cellphones can be used for plain telephone calls too ) and as an alarm clock.

Have ordered a Huawei E5S 3G-modem/Router to connect all comps to the Internet and transfering small files between the computers.

Have my Huawei E5s setup and working as 3G-modem and Router.

So far I have tested it with:
Win7 Laptop.
Ubuntu 10.10 EeePC 701
WinXP sp3 Nettop
Android 2.1 X10 Mini

And it connects and share everything easily.
The E5s even have a battery allowing for some 4 hour of.
It can share the Internet to max 5 comps/devices.
