Samsung has announced Galaxy S II. The Galaxy S II has a dual-core 1 GHz CPU and is the world thinnest smartphone ony 8.49 mm thick

A dual-core 1 GHz processor should be enough for everyone. At lest a year or two when the quad core CPU's are out. The Samsung Galaxy S II will be a high performance smartphone for years to come. The Galaxy S II processor is able to both record and play bak full HD 1080p @30 fps. The display with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution is not Full HD and the lack of HDMI will not let you view HD media on an external displays so we do not see the point in promoting Full HD viewing for the Galaxy S II. Please enlighten us using the comment form below the article.We bet you can't see the difference between a 8.5 and a 8.49 mm thin phone, but the small numbers seems to be of great importance these day. As far as wee know, Samsung announced the thinnest phone at this years MWC. The competitors Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is 8.7 mm thin, HTC ChaCha 10.7 mm and LG has the Optimus Black measuring 9.2 mm. Seems like Samsung won the competition of having the thinnest phone with the largest screen this year.
Galaxy S II is running on the latest version of Googles operating system, Android 2.3 Gingerbred. It has a large 4.3 inch 480x800 pixle Super AMOLED Plus display. A couple of nice video codecs are installed: MPEG4/H.264/H.263/DivX VC-1. The Samsung Galaxy S II seems to be the first Android device taking the business maket seriously too. The Galaxy S2 does have HDMI out! The phone uses the Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) standard. This allows the phone to output full 1080P resolution via the standard Micro-Usb connector. All you need is the Micro-Usb to HDMI cable. You could also stream HD content from the phone wirelessly to a TV that supports DNLA, which most new televisions do support. For more information about MHL have a look here

After looking at the entire video about MHL I am firmly in the corner of the Galaxy S II. HDMI through the mini USB port is a great leap forward instead of having a separate port.
