Bit pathetic really:

I asked whether in the future it would be possible to delete the pre-installed items from the memory.

This is the reply I got:

Thank you for contacting Sony Ericsson.

Regarding your enquiry concerning the T300, networks install the
preinstalled items and thus vary from network to network.

As such the items cannot be deleted even with a master reset.

I dunno, I was under the impression from topics on here that the preinstalled items were part of the firmware and were installed before even the networks took a look at the phone.

Pictures, themes, ringtones, templates. Most people just want the pictures and templates gone though.

if you are wanting to delete these then there is a way, ive used it on my t68i and i have heard it works on t300's aswell!
