Hi,

I was updating my Sony G700 phone using SEUS. after (i think) sucessfull update; the phone would not turn on again. I tried by removing battery > reinserting battery > powering on. But still not starting.

When i power on phone; i can see backlight coming on. but nothing else happens.

Anyone has any idea; What might have happened and how to fix it?

Regards,
PP

Hi and welcome to Esato!

Have you tried the repair option in SEUS?
Do the same procedure as before, but instead of update click repair

Hi Ravager,

I tried connecting to PC after starting SEUS.

The phone is detected by SEUS (although nothing still comes on phone screen).

But there was no REPAIR option on SEUS software which i could select. it gave me a message saying that "Your phone already has the latest available software installed" ... and it gives me an Exit button only.

anything else i can try??? pls help, much appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,
PP

When you get the message that your phone already got the latest software you still have the option to install or abort at the bottom right corner, press install. This will do a clean install, you will lose all of your data, but hopefully repair your phone.

At least, this is how it looks in SEUS with a X10

Hi Ravager,

Nope, there is no Install button at the bottom right corner

Is this a funtionality in a particular version of SEUS ?

Is there a repair option in Sony PC suite? i could not find that on my version either.

Thanks and Regards,
PP

Hello again!

Been looking around some other forums and think i've solved it, kind of!

Apparently/AFAIK the repair/fresh install option only apply to non branded phones.

If your phone's not branded, and even if it is, sorry i cant help you anymore. If it is branded you need to send it to a service center or to your carrier. Or debrand it in some clever way, there are softwares for this, but sorry thats not my area of knowledge

Some last words, if it's not branded here is a quote from xda

"In the USA,
Initially SEUS had repair option.
SEUS was updated, repair option was gone
The SE site for X10 was down for an extended period,
when it came back I installed SEUS again - repair option back.

May want to try re-installinf SEUS, if you prefer that method,
PC Companion always worked."

hope it solves your problem!

If you bought it through a carrier it's probably branded. (With branded i mean carrier branded (Orange,AT&T and so on... not Sony Ericsson branded)
I never buy my phones from a carrier due to this kind of problems, it costs more tho...

Try to reinstall both PC-companion and SEUS, if it doesn't help, you'll have to ask someone else or take it to a SE service center.
