Bought tickets on Southern Railway last week, asked for delivery by non-recorded 1st class post.
They're still not here, so I assume they're lost in the post..
OR
The same thing as last time happened, and my whole address was not visible through the window, delaying postage.

Where do I stand in terms of refund?
Can I pressure them on proof of postage? Would that help my case at all?

I'm not really sure about what I can do, short of paying another £16 for replacements.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Ring them, they should sort it out. Make them send out replacements next day recorded, although they aren't obliged to since you didn't pay for recorded delivery

In theory it is their responsibility to get them to you so if they do not arrive then they should replace them.

Apparently I can get a refund on top of that also.. £10 was just compensation.
I'll update this thread when everything is completely resolved.

Thanks for the help, Luke and JC!

Next time just ask for them to be delivered to the ticket machine at a station near you, that way when you put your card into the machine you get your tickets.

Twice I've done that and missed my train.. probably should allow more time, but that doesn't always work out.

(Just got back this morning - I'll call Southern on Tuesday)

You can pick up the ticket any time after you'd bought it.

Where were you heading anyway?

Not sure that I can pick up from my local NXEA station, and even that's a trek, let alone any Southern stations down in the City.
Moral of the story; pay for recorded delivery!

The ticket was for Gatwick, I was off to Canada..

You can indeed get it sent to a machine at any station.

You could try CrossCountrys web site for your tickets, they let you print them off
