> Xperia Play Available £429 Sim-Free
Bookmark topic
Okay, so I wouldn't normally post a thread just for a price been listed cheap but seen as it may be a limited offer I thought why not.
Anyway the Play is available at Tesco for £429. Its on the Tesco network but I'm pretty sure they aren't Sim-locked

Plus you get 850 Club card points, which equates to £8.50 in Vouchers to spend at the cinema, Tesco, pizza Express etc.

My last Tesco phone was the W910 which was sim-free even though it was on Tesco.
So I wouldn't be surprised if the same applies again.
Besides, if anyone wants to purchase it, they can ring up. And didn't Ofcom impose a new law that means users have the option for the network to unlock it?

Quick bit of research shows Tesco will unlock it for free if you have owned it for more than 12 months. Or it will cost you £20.
Although I think this is for Pay Monthly customers as you can't unlock an Iphone until after 12 months.

Its 12 months before Tesco will unlock their pay and go phones. Same as O2.
Had a go a few days ago in Tesco and no chance its worth it for the price. Games are of PS1/border PS2 quality and the 2 touch joystick things are tempermental. Would rather a psp or psp go (which I already have along with dsi xl) over this.
If the price was more in line with current gaming devices (eg psp go, 3ds etc) then it would certainly be more worthwile imo.

Using another network’s SIM in a Tesco Mobile phone
If you wish to use another network's SIM, you will need to arrange for it be unlocked. If this is the case, you must not insert another operator's SIM card into the mobile without an unlatching code (this is not your PIN code).
Our Customer Care team can provide you with an unlatching code. The service is free if you request an unlatching code from us, 12 months after the date you activated your handset. If you activated your Tesco Mobile phone less than 12 months ago, we will charge you a fee of £20 to unlock your handset.
Unlocking a Tesco Mobile iPhone
If you would like to use Apple iPhone on another network, you can to unlock your phone before the end of your contract but there will be a small fee to do this.
