> Xperia Arc battery problem ?
Bookmark topic
The phone is incredible, however i cannot tell the same of the battery, which is a dissapointment, i followed the instructions on the support page to gain maximum battery life, not activate GPS, WiFi, data traffic from provider, Bluetooth, display on 70% and my battery last about 15 hours ! and then the remaining battery life is around 30 %, without even placing a call or receiving one, so the battery does not last 24 hours !!!
The battery of my Vivaz is a Lithium Polymer battery of 1200 mAh and it takes about 4 or 5 days before its almost completely empty.
Rumours go around that the battery is not available anymore, that supplier( in my country only ?) is bankrupt, but strange enough the Xperia Play which is to be released in a little time has the same battery, i searched the internet to buy another battery but everywhere it is out of stock ...
Any feedback on this matter from other users is welcome.
kind regards,

How many charges have you done?
The first 3 charges my Arc did not last more than 12 hours.
Try charging the phone and keeping it long after it reaches 100%
Recharge the phone around 20 30%
I keep my phone on 50% brightness, since auto brightness works.
I easily get 2 to 3 days with gmail/whatsapp sync on, 1.30 hours of display, wifi, and 30 minutes of talk time

I have the phone now more than 2 weeks, i leave it connected to charge all night and disconnect the device at morning before taking off to work, because if i disconnect it after it is charged 100 %, by the time i wake up in the morning its capacity is reduced with 30 % in the hours that i sleep , but anyway at evening when i return home , around 7 pm it already is below 50 % of capacity with only one call, i recharge it around 30 % ...
kind regards,

I have exactly the same thing with the Arc.
Actually, I had the same with the Vivaz in the beginning and then after a few weeks it became really good.
My Vivaz can stay on now for almost a week when I use it for calls only.
I don't know what made it better for the Vivaz, it could have been the updates or just the time necessary for the battery to reach its maximal capacity.
I have a suspicion for the Arc that all these programs preinstalled by the mobile provider are to be blamed, I will get rid of most of them as soon as I know what they really do.

Until these manufacturers start making new better battery technology it's always going to be this way. A huge 4.2 inch screen with technology that comes from tv sets & with all the other battery draining features,it ain't gonna last long.

I didn't stop thinking about it, so i thought it can't hurt , so i performed a second restore and yes it seems it works now, and after a full recharge, 12 hours later my battery still has 92 % ....

Sorry to hear about your battery issue. I didn't get the chance to try it for myself because I chose the Play over the Arc but I'm surprised to hear about the battery issue. Regarding the reason why it's constantly out of stock is because of the shortages of supply due to what happened in Japan.
