Just an fyi....
I pre-ordered my P800 yesterday at sonyericsson.com/us. Just click on the picture of the P800 after selecting the region and country. Then click on 'Buy' in the left hand menu. The pre-order price is $649.99 + shipping (no tax). There is currently no date set for release on the website. When filling out the order form you are asked to choose a carrier. The carriers are: AT&T wireless, T-Mobile, and Cingular.

Does that meant that the US phones are locked? Do they have removeable SIMs?

I preordered, but I did it by calling SE. I needed to have the phone shipped to an alternate address. They never asked me about which carrier I wanted.
I talked to a Cingular person(my current carrier) They said they wouldn't have proper GSM coverage until late 2004!

this was the email sonyericsson sent me back when i asked how long it would take for the preorders to ship:
Dear customer,
We are expecting a shipment within the next 2-3 weeks.
Thank you for your inquiry.
i think this is one of hte worsts emails i've ever gotten from a serious company. how can they not even tell when their own products are ready or be able to provide information that is so vague.

well, problem is often.. the bigger they get, the less serious they often seem! cuz of the size of the company they often have problems keeping track of their services.

i also place an ordered on SE Eshop on the US site for $649, they told me 2-4 weeks, and anotherperson was unsure and told me 6-8 weeks, wtf is going on here? sigh... and these phones are UNLOCKED, SIM FREE! that choice on the SE site has nothing to do, its just like a survey thats all, but these p800 are unlocked, sim free, if you're unsure call them up and ask, here's the number, maybe some of you guys can bug em about a more precise date for the p800 to ship out in the US, maybe they need more ppl to harass them! arghh... here's the number...
